OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Vicary privet is an upright deciduous or semi-evergreen shrub resulting from a cross between golden California privet and common privet. It is grown for its foliage which assumes golden yellow tones in full sun. In shade the color is a dull chartreuse. Vicary privet accepts almost any soil type or sun exposure and tolerates drought. It is widely used in hedging and screening and as a feature plant.
